Hybrid Retrospectives
Esther’s mother used to tell her that having two kids was more than twice as challenging as having a single child. When adding children to a family, the challenges aren’t additive, they are multiplicative. The same is true for retrospectives on hybrid teams, in which some people are in one physical location while others are elsewhere (whether those individuals are in single or multiple additional locations).
In hybrid retrospectives, you have all the challenges of a face-to-face retrospective. You also have all the challenges of a remote retrospective. On top of that, you have the challenge of creating roughly equal participation between the face-to-face people and the remote people, and getting them talking.
