Agile Systems Architectural Analysis and Trade Studies

A key systems engineering activity is to examine different architectural and technical solutions—especially ones that cross engineering disciplines—to identify the best approach for the system design. This can be done in a relatively simple, but low-fidelity way using spreadsheets and estimated advantages and disadvantages of various candidate solutions. It can also be done using a more formal means using mathematical and constraint analysis.
