Engaging and Collaborating with Your Talent
Supporting Your Teams of Internals and Externals
In an earlier chapter, we show that how external agile talent enters an organization affects the productivity and commitment of this talent. The time and effort taken to orient externals to the task, their understanding of the goals they must deliver, their introduction to the culture of the organization, and their first opportunities to meet internal colleagues with whom they will work—all these things matter. These elements have an outsized impact on the individuals’ subsequent work performance and how it affects other people whom they collaborate with or support.
