Before the advent of agile working, productivity was achieved by devising ever-slicker centralized processes through business process improvement. Even the bolder approach of business transformation is often a centrally imposed change. With the empowerment of agile workers productivity in the delivery of services is down to the individuals and teams working within necessary constraints and guidelines. Research conducted by Workfront1 shows that the two most significant obstacles to work were wasteful meetings (57 percent) and excessive e-mails (53 percent).
