Karen had finally followed some of Maria’s advice. She had agreed to do performance reviews twice a year instead of once. Six months after Maria sat in on Laurie Kelly’s review, the three of them sat down for another review.
“I see you’ve invited her again.” Laurie spoke to Karen about Maria, but didn’t address Maria.
Maria chose to respond. “I hope you don’t mind,” she said neutrally.
