Generative AI tools have the potential to dramatically reduce the amount of time teachers spend creating and revising materials for their classrooms. The amount of time freed from generating lesson plans, creating essential questions, constructing worksheets, assigning homework, building assessments, and making resources will allow teachers to focus on direct instruction.
While time saved is a significant advantage, it is not the only reason to use AI for curriculum development.
