9.1 Cloud Computing
Cloud computing enables convenient, ubiquitous, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources, including networks, servers, storage, applications, and services. It can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.
Data and programs can be removed from PCs and organisations’ server rooms and installed into the compute cloud. Thus, cloud computing refers to the general geographical shift of computation. This influences all parts of the computational ecosystem starting from the user and ending with the software developer, IT manager, and hardware manufacturer.
