INTRODUCTION
Over an aircraft’s service life virtually all of its components are involved in some form of inspection, preventive maintenance, overhaul, repair, or replacement. Even the best designed aircraft and components will occasionally develop defects. A system must be in place that will allow for the dissemination of technical material from both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and aircraft manufacturers to correct these defects. The technical information needed to correct defects must be available in clear, concise language and organized in such a way as to be easy to use by the technician.
