Building Access Data Project Reports
The same guidelines that are true for forms are true for reports. The main thing to remember is that you want to bring over as little data as possible whenever possible. If you need to produce a report that contains aggregate data, you should always aggregate the data on the server. If you perform the aggregation on the client, Access will need to bring all of the necessary detail records over the network wire. On the other hand, if you use a view or stored procedure to aggregate the data, the server will aggregate the data and send only the aggregated results over the network wire.
