Access and a Logical Three-Tier Model
Sometimes you might suspect that you will need to move to a true three-tier model in the future, but you are not ready to do so yet. Other times, you might want to take advantage of Access's rapid application development environment to perfect your three-tier architecture. In either case, you can build a model that is logically three-tier, while retaining all of the application components within Microsoft Access. The process involves moving all data access logic into class modules and ensuring that the application forms contain no data access logic. The sections that follow illustrate this process.
