Job Maintenance
It is not enough to run the Database Maintenance Plan Wizard, set up several jobs, and then let things run. Once you establish jobs, it is important that you:
Monitor job status— Review the success or failure of each job.
Review job schedules— Review each job for both schedule and frequency.
Review job durations— Review how long it took to run the job.
Review job outputs— Review log files, backup files, and so on from each job.
To review the success or failure of a job:
1. | From within Enterprise Manager, select the Jobs subnode under the SQL Server Agent mode. |
