Chapter 38There Is No Mistaking It When You Uncover Migraine Problems Worth Solving

Knock. Knock.

Darkness. Complete and utter darkness. What the hell was going on? Owen stumbled for his phone. 6:05 . . . ohhhhhhh, he still felt groggy. Maybe one snooze of the alarm.

Knock. Knock.

Okay, there was definitely somebody at the door . . . Lisa! Owen snapped out of bed and ran to open the door.

The gentleman at the door looked startled at the force with which Owen flung it open. He definitely wasn’t Lisa.

“Umm . . . Mr. Chase? Your 6:00 A.M. wake-up with breakfast and paper.”

“Oh . . . I didn’t order breakfast.”

“Complimentary for this room, Mr. Chase. May I?”

Owen realized he was blocking the door—and that all he had on was his boxers. There was also a throbbing pain coming again from his leg. He had definitely jolted up too quickly.

“Yes. Come in . . . just set it there.” Owen hobbled around his bed to find his pants for a dollar or two. He realized he should probably just put his pants on while he had them in hand, “Uh. You don’t happen to have any aspirin do you? For my leg.”

“Mr. Chase, there is a basic first-aid kit in the medicine cabinet. Would you like me to get it for you?”

“That’s all right. Thank you.”

“Mr. Chase, several reporters have inquired whether you’d be interested in doing interviews before today’s play starts.”


“ESPN. Wall Street Journal. Couple of others.”

“Uh . . . no . . . actually. Just . . . maybe later. Not this morning.”
