Living the Road Less Traveled

The classic poem by the great New England poet Robert Frost, “The Road Less Traveled,” tells us that there are rewards in choosing a path not taken by most.

Living your life on the road less traveled is never easy. It will be covered in plenty of things to trip you up and block your progress. There will be days when you don’t know what is around the next corner or where exactly you may be heading, and that can be unsettling to some.

Many people take the easy and well-worn path and go on to have fulfilling lives. There is no shame in taking the safe path, but there are often more surprises and opportunities on the other.

Yes, family, work, and other obligations will get in the way of your dreams, but those are excuses. Never forget that we each have the same 24 hours every day. No one gets any more or less time. It is up to you do with it what you want.

Remaining adventurous is a trait for success. Embracing your inner wanderlust to explore opportunities that may be ahead, even though you don’t know exactly what obstacles you may face, often will fill your belly with nervousness—a nervousness that some of us find exciting.

Too many proceed through life without truly living it. Adding a bit of adventure and wonder into your life is never a bad decision.
