How to Design and Select Plant Components and Materials

The selection of system components is a major difficulty for new designers. They lack basic knowledge of the characteristics of different kinds of pumps and so on which allow for rational decision making. They also lack knowledge of appropriate design methodology. In this chapter I explain the broad categories and provide tabulated data to allow choices to be made between options for the most important materials and components.
