Background

For many years CCL has worked with senior-level executives to hone their leadership skills through its Leadership at the Peak program. We use interviews as a way to help leaders understand the image they convey. These interviews have also been the basis for research that has shown that effective leadership and the ability to communicate a strong vision are linked.

CCL analyzed 150 executive vision statements. We measured their comments in terms of both content (what's included in the vision statement) and articulation (how they delivered the message).
