Simple calibration circuit maximizes accuracy in Li-Ion battery management systems

Abstract
In Li-Ion battery systems, highly accurate measurements of state of charge (SOC) are required to maximize pack performance and longevity. Some applications demand accuracy that is only attainable with a dedicated voltage reference IC, such as the LT1461, which can improve the accuracy of an LTC6802-based battery management system to about 3mV.
