23. Mash-Up at the Movies
Film is one of the biggest influences on my work. From a very young age, I was fascinated by movies and the experience of going to “the pictures.” One of the first films to have a real impact on me was Jaws. I remember my mum taking me to see it at our local cinema and being scared out of my wits when that head appears from the hole on the underside of the boat. I think I asked my mum if we could leave at that point, but thankfully she made me stay to the end and see what has become one of my all-time favorite films.
