In Chapter 21, techniques for evaluating the performance of individual unit operations were introduced. The use of performance curves was illustrated. Performance curves describe the behavior of a unit over a wide range of inputs. The techniques developed in Chapter 20 were also used to obtain results for a single set of input conditions, which is one point on a performance curve.
