The folks at Google recognized that some built-in Android tools are so popular that they need shortcuts. Swipe downward on the Home screen, and on the resulting window shade you can see the shortcut icons to access Quick Settings tools. Swipe downward again, and you see even more icons and the tools’ names below them.

These shortcuts to the phone’s settings enable you to make the changes you need on the fly with a swipe and a tap. You can also find all these tools and their settings by searching the main settings, accessed by swiping downward on the Home screen and tapping the cog on the window shade.
