Android has a significant number of views already created for your use. Throughout this book, you’ve learned how to work with many of them, and in the previous chapter, “Combining Views for Custom Components,” you learned how to combine multiple existing views to make them easier to work with and to add new functionality. Many apps will never need more than what you have learned so far, but sometimes you need to create your own views or significantly modify existing ones.
