So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

By the summer of 1999, story had finally wrapped on Toy Story 2, and things were back to normal in my animated life. I was back at my desk at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank when I received a surprise telephone call. It was from the office of Pixar producer Darla K. Anderson. Darla, a Pixar veteran, had been with the company since its early days as a software developer and was the producer of the new film to be directed by Pete Docter. It was Pete's first chance at directing a film. Darla's assistant had a question: would I be willing to meet with the producer next Monday afternoon?
