This may seem odd, but I don't remember ever attending a storyboarding class at the Walt Disney Studios back in the old days. Naturally, by the late 1980s and 1990s, things had changed considerably and young story artists were being tutored by Disney veterans such as Joe Grant, Vance Gerry, Burny Mattinson, and others.
I remember attending several animation sessions with Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston, and other animators back in the 1950s. There were layout classes with Ken O'Connor as well. However, I honestly can't recall one story class at Disney back in the day. I still find this most unusual since story was so highly regarded at Walt's cartoon factory.
