This northeastern African country has seen a bloom of diverse young talents. Said Bouftass made plenty of animated shorts and animated ads, and in 2011 he directed an animated film about Ibn Battuta, the Arab traveller from the Middle Ages (Ibn Battuta, 2011). J’ai bu un café dans un Café (‘I Drank a Coffee in a Café’, 2005) is about a man’s imaginary journey.

Rachid Jadir is known for his shorts that sneer at everyday Moroccan behaviour.
