I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The world of animation has experienced a tremendous change in the last decade or so. Not only has the traditional cel approach been almost completely usurped by the relentless and far-reaching 3D revolution, but even this infant, computer-based, mainstream tradition is now threatened by the resurgence of a new and exciting 2D approach, the paperless animation studio!
Time will tell if this new desktop revolution will take hold in the mainstream. But, if recent history is any indicator, more and more individual animators and software manufacturers will be working towards techniques and technology that will improve quality of production while eradicating much of the slog and chore that is commonly associated with animation, particularly 2D animation. ...
