Data consistency

Consistency in Cassandra refers to the guarantee that even though a read or write operation in a Cassandra cluster is written to or read from a desired number of nodes, all of them have the same latest data. For example, if we're writing to a Cassandra cluster of five nodes on a column family with a replication factor of 3, we could specify, using consistency, how many nodes should respond to our read or write request in order to guarantee that data returned is the latest and is consistent across all nodes. For example, if the consistency is ONE, the read operation is acknowledged as a success by coordinator node as soon as one node responds3.
