3. Camera

The Cordova Camera API provides an application with the ability to access images on the device. The images can be either captured directly from the camera or retrieved from the device’s existing photos. A developer would use this API in an application that requires the user to take new photos or select existing photos which will be somehow utilized (stored, uploaded, and copied) by the application.

Applications can also use the Cordova Capture API to capture images using the camera. Refer to Chapter 4 for more information about this API. The Camera and Capture APIs are different enough that you will want to evaluate both before selecting the appropriate option for your applications.
