I remember taking a class on time management. One of the topics we discussed in that course was how to manage your email. As students, we shared how we each approached our email. I can still distinctly remember one of my fellow students being completely shocked and almost bewildered that I didn't empty my email inbox every day. For me, all email stays in my inbox. If it is unread, I still need to deal with it, and if it is marked as read, I don't need to look at it again, but I don't bother to archive it or put it into another folder.
