Lost-and-founds have saved my hide on many occasions. I’ve lost things at schools, jobs, hotels, stores, and airports, only to be graced by the kindness of others who have found and returned my items.

Apple has a digital version of a lost-and-found called Find My. Find My gets its oddly incomplete-sounding name by being a mashup of two previous apps called Find My iPhone and Find My Friends, both of which performed the tasks for which they were aptly named. Find My now performs the functions of both apps.

In this chapter, you learn how to find Apple devices you’ve misplaced and track down friends you're meeting on your excursions.
