5. Metadata

You can use various methods of assigning and searching clip metadata to find the clips you need when you need them. The searchable metadata may be assigned automatically by Final Cut Pro during import or manually by you at any time; and it allows you to add clips to collections manually or automatically. Collections provide simple ways to find the right clip even when the search involves complex criteria. With the aid of metadata, one clip may exist in multiple collections that all reference a single source media file.
