Lesson 10. Configuring OS X Server to Provide Device Management
The OS X Server Profile Manager service lets you manage OS X and iOS devices, and it allows your users to perform basic management of their devices. This lesson introduces you to Profile Manager.
Profile Manager provides functionality in three ways:
Over-the-air (OTA) configuration of iOS and OS X devices
Mobile device management (MDM)
App and book distribution
In this lesson, you’ll prepare the Profile Manager service for use and turn it on. The following lesson will describe how to apply it to managing iOS and OS X devices.
