Chapter 7. Encoding for Apple Devices and the Web

Compressor includes three H.264 settings for Apple devices: one setting for Apple TV and two settings for iPod players with video (differentiated by output frame size). In addition, Compressor includes many settings aimed at creating content for Internet-based delivery.

Note

The MPEG-4 codec in Compressor is provided in two versions: Part 2 and Part 10 (more commonly known as H.264). To distinguish between these two MPEG-4 codecs, this book refers to the MPEG-4 Part 2 codec as MPEG-4, and Part 10 as H.264.
