Chapter 12. Distributed Processing

Distributed processing harnesses the collective encoding power of two or more computers on the same local area network (LAN)—sometimes referred to as a render farm. By spreading the encoding load across multiple computers, you can reduce processing time compared to using a single computer that must shoulder the entire job.
