Final Cut Server’s catalog is designed to contain assets for every file that your facility uses on a regular basis. The devices, or storage locations, that Final Cut Server has been configured to recognize, may sometimes hold media files that are not yet an asset in the catalog.
This can happen when a file is brand new, or because Final Cut Server is not regularly scanning the device that the file is on (for example, a playout server or an FTP server that is exposed to the Internet).
