June 2023 was the first time I tried on Apple Vision Pro, at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. It was a guided 30-minute demo, where I got to wear this magical device and try out the gestures, see some immersive videos, and engage in my first FaceTime call with Personas (see Chapter 2).
But what really blew me away were the spatial videos in Apple Vision Pro, where you’re playing back a previously recorded scene (in this case, it was a home movie of kids blowing candles on a birthday cake), and it truly felt like I was there at that exact moment because it was in 3D.
