I still vividly remember the first time I took a phone call on my Apple Watch. I was filling up the tank at a gasoline station when my wife called, and the little black device on my left wrist vibrated and sounded like a phone ringing. I was surprised because I wasn't expecting a call. But I wasn’t as surprised as the person on the other side of the pump, who just stood there and stared, mouth wide open, as a voice emanated from my wrist and I spoke back. After a few seconds, the call ended, but the person continued to stand there and stare. I just smiled as I got into my car and drove away while — no kidding — the staring continued, following my car as I left the premises. To be fair, this was right before the Apple Watch went on sale; I’d received one early from Apple to write about the new toy, so they weren’t ubiquitous like they are today. Good times, good times.
