Abstract

Performance tuning needs to be done to ensure the application is performing acceptably. Tuning is a complex subject that requires input from a number of sources, including the operating system, support software, the database, and the application itself. Define the goals before you start changing anything. Besides the application, any support software on the server needs to be tuned.
