4.6. The Interface Between Smalltalk and Matlab
Smalltalk is a good language for Object-Oriented-Programming, especially in control system design and testing. Matlab is a good language for data analysis and plotting, especially for real-time systems. This section provides an example that combines both these languages to facilitate system control and data analysis. In the next section, a real control and measurement system is provided by using ControlWORKS, and real-time control and data feedback are illustrated by using an interface between Smalltalk and Matlab.
This section provides a simple example, whose functionality is straightforward:
Generate a set of random numbers in the Smalltalk domain.
