Gene Selection Methods for Microarray Data

Abstract

DNA microarray allows to monitor the expression levels of thousands of genes under different experimental conditions. DNA microarray technology helps researchers learn about different kinds of diseases, especially cancer. Using this technology, researchers will be able to classify the types of cancer on the basis of gene expression levels in tumor cells. Cancer microarray data has a special characteristic that although there are large numbers of genes but very few samples, which makes it difficult for classification of samples.
