Minimal prototype controller with setpoint tracking and load disturbance suppression (i.e. 2 degrees of freedom): Apply this to a first-order system with a dead time delay of k steps, considering a setpoint step and a step disturbance. Delayed step (dead beat) responses in both cases are required. Take GL and GM = 1. Recall that the output response will be at the disturbance value until the (k + 1)th step, and that the output will not change for the setpoint step until the (k + 1)th interval thereafter.
