Chapter 3. Visually Representing Data
Choosing a visualization technique to generate an image of your data is not a trivial task. Should you use a bar chart or a line chart? Or is a scatter plot better suited? I address these questions in this chapter and also discuss for each of the graphs their drawbacks and benefits. In addition, for each of the graphs, I discuss what type of data it represents best.
Once you know what data you want to analyze and what information is encoded in the data, you need to decide how to visually represent the data. Many types of graphs can be used to visualize data.
