Appendix A. Backup Onboarding Checklist
The following is an example of a checklist that can be used to onboard new backup users (see Chapter 13). It focuses on the inherent needs of the user, but also the possible options around the chosen data sources. It does not ask for replication at all, which is a separate task.
The overall size of a backup is computed based on the size for each source × the number of copies to keep (not taking delta backups into account for now).
