It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Imagine controlling all your home appliances remotely just using body movements and gestures. There are a number of machines and devices that can be controlled electrically in an automated house, such as television sets, DVD players, radios, lamps, and the heating system. In order to avoid the problem of tinkering with mains power and the obvious risks of opening up expensive devices, this chapter will focus on hacking an external element that can control a broad range of devices: a general-purpose remote control.
