Substituting Parts
If you have been involved in hobbyist electronics and amateur radio for a long time and have done any home-built projects from published plans, you know that sometimes we are not always able to find all of the parts as specified by the original designer. The projects in our book are no different in that many times we try to use parts that are on hand, substituting what we have for those parts specified to be used. If you have experience and a well-stocked “junk box” or a large inventory of discrete parts in your workshop, you may try to use parts you have rather than ordering the exact parts from a supplier.
