It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Although most people think of it as a recent innovation, the reality is that the cloud has taken more than a decade to become a reality. In this chapter, we cover the history that led up to the launch of cloud computing, discuss the common characteristics of clouds, and finish the chapter by examining the pros and cons of cloud computing.
