Abstract

To suppress the discharge of greenhouse gasses and to address the environmental sustainability electric vehicles impart a crucial role in the latest energy-efficient environment. To face this challenge, electric vehicles which take part the energy conversion mechanism, should not only demand exact demand in performance and efficiency while also vibration, cost, etc. This chapter significantly reports a comprehensive solution for permanent magnet motors employed in recent electric vehicles. Eventually, permanent magnet motors are openly employed in electric vehicles technology due to the quick advancements in permanent magnet materials and several advanced constructional requirements like high torque to volume ratio, large power density, lower excitation losses, lesser noise and vibration, etc. compared to an induction motor. Additionally, permanent magnet synchronous machines could be designed to employ over extensive torque-speed operating regions with improved torque density and power density. Moreover the drawbacks of this strategy are operating cost ...
