Abstract

WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) is an infrastructure-less network that is used temporarily in a number of wireless sensors to monitor computer, physical, or environmental conditions like earth climatic temperature, environmental noise and environmental pollution levels, sound, humidity, wind, enemy crossing in the country border, etc. IEEE 802.15.4 WSN is organizing the collected data at a centralized server in the secured location. Various routing algorithms are used to find the most efficient route in WSN based on distance, network traffic, etc. Routing protocols should be used for path maintenance as sensor nodes are low resources such as battery power, communication range. In this study we have provided an overview of WSNs with its classification, as well as comparisons between different routing algorithms with our proposed EIDR (Enhanced Intrusion Detection and Response). Soundness of proposed EIDR tested using Qualnet 5.0.
