More and more associations are considering or engaging in globalization efforts. Some associations are just starting to take a serious look at them. Many associations are realizing that whether by plan or by natural evolution they have already undertaken some level of globalization. It is incumbent upon every chief staff executive (CSE) to be informed about the opportunities and challenges associated with an increasingly globalized world. The CSE should work to determine if the association should be more international by selling its products and services abroad or be global by bringing people together around the world to advance the industry or profession.
