The Japanese taxing provisions provide a strong preference to the traditional transfer pricing transaction methods. Nevertheless, despite that strong preference, the Japanese transfer pricing provisions in fact favor the profit split method when the enterprise is unable to apply the traditional transfer pricing transaction methods.
