Using the New ASTD Competency Model

Purpose: This job aid is intended for organizations who want to use the ASTD Competency Model for professional development and workforce planning.

Directions: Use this job aid to help you determine how your organization is currently applying the ASTD Competency Model. Then, based on the needs of your organization, determine where additional development should be directed. In the columns below, for each Area of Expertise (AOE), indicate:
