I was so flattered by the invitation to write this introduction that I forgot to read the small print. Only after I accepted the invitation did I realize that it is supposed to be practical and must deal with the “hottest innovation or the newest issue.”
I have no problem keeping this practical because that is the only way I train, learn, design, and write. You will find several brief pieces of practical advice. These prescriptions or guidelines are deliberately listed in a random order without sequential numbering. My recommendation is that you not count the number of guidelines, but make each guideline count.
